Lingerie – Inspired Fashion

I have always loved the high fashion, straight off the runway look of lingerie turned into daywear.
But how does the everyday girl include some of these pieces without going too far? The answer my dear, is a little planning, and a lot of confidence. There are a few simple rules for this bombshell look:
1. Be careful, its very easy to get carried away with lingerie, I do that all the time. Make sure to keep it down to earth with contrasting elements. If you are going for a frilly piece, pair it with a structured jacket with simple, clean lines or try some cute boyfriend jeans with a delicate assortment of camisoles.
2. Corset tops are great for a boudoir inspired outfit. So are layered sheer fabrics; lace and pink or nude colors. Keep in mind to pair light colors with high impact colors like black to avoid being washed out.
3. Make sure to check all angles before leaving the house. Lingerie can be sheer, so make sure you layer accordingly.
4. Confidence! You are a sexy, stylish gal, so let everyone know it. There is no reason why you can not include some of your lingerie pieces into your every day outfits, so go ahead and experiment! Here are a few fun examples:

Garter Belts

For a while now, I’ve noticed a giant leap in the popularity of “garter belts”, or “suspender belts” as they’re known in Europe. As well as the usual lingerie hot spots, it seems like they’re popping up in high fashion and on the streets everywhere.

Personally, I’ve tried wearing a garter belt with stockings and I have to say that I love the way they put a little more sexiness into my everyday life. They help me push the envelope with my day wear while reinventing my nightly routine. It’s definitely been a leap to integrate them into my outfits, but it’s been worth the try. On a recent date night with my “hunnie”, I tried the high fashion look of a skirt, stockings and visible garters. Do I need to say that he was a huge fan!
I’m not sure if I’m ready to do this every day but I have to admit that when I do it’s a lot of fun! I would recommend that every woman try wearing a garter belt with stockings and see whether you enjoy it. Even if wearing them out is not your thing try wearing them at night with your favorite lingerie as a “surprise” for that special someone.
One thing you should remember when shopping for a garter belt is to keep in mind why you are buying it. If you are using them simply for costume or for spicing up your lingerie wardrobe, go for something sexy. If you want to wear them throughout the day then go for something that’s comfortable and wears well. It’s also nice to splurge on some nice quality garters with metal clasps and maybe a belt with even six to eight straps for more support. But it all depends on what you want to use them for.
