Here are some tidbits about In Bloom by Jonquil lingerie and its creator Diane Samandi.
Diane Samandi began taking art lessons from her “fashion illustrator” grandmother and her “silent movie actress” great aunt as a young child which fostered a love for old world style and old Hollywood clothing. In the 1960’s, at age 15, she was making her own clothing, and gained a following of friends who even bought clothing from her. One friend wore a dress of hers into a boutique in Hollywood and when asked where she bought it directed them to Diane. She shortly began making clothing for the boutique which sold them to celebrities. In three years she had opened her own boutique which catered to the Sonoma State College crowd and which she called “New Dawn Home-Sewn Clothes.”
After attending LA Trade Tech’s fashion program, one of her job interviewers suggested that she try making lingerie, and so she did, for twenty-seven years!
Today, she has three clothing lines: Jonquil her line of high end lingerie, Inbloom by Jonquil lingerie which is similar to Jonquil with a flirty, fun feel , and Diane Samandi her delicate daywear line. Her Samandi collection is seen on celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Hilary Duff, Hayden Panettiere, and Megan Fox, and her lingerie has been a favorite around the world for twenty plus years.
