Caring For Your Lingerie – Part Two
As mentioned in a previous posting, lingerie can last for years if you just know how to take care of it; this includes laundering, storing, as well as a couple of other hints that can get you the most out of your delicates. Let’s talk about the second one.
“Storing”
The ideal situation for your lingerie is a drawer separate from other clothing items. With bras, corsets or anything with molded padding or boning, they need lots of room to retain their shape.
We have come far from high school where we just shoved everything into the same drawers without folding them! Now an organizing solution like drawer dividers or boxes that you can stack your bras into make much more sense. Watch out for any rough spots that your dresser may have so you don’t snag your pretty lingerie and keep them out of the sun as much as possible so that their colors will not fade.
Remember that each item should have any clasps, buttons or zippers fastened because who knows what will happen when you’re late for a date and snatching your things out of your “perfectly organized lingerie drawer.” Right?
If the time comes when you need a traveling lingerie solution, have no fear. Just lay your corsets or bustiers flat and protect them from suitcase zippers and cosmetics by covering them, a dry cleaning bag will do.
